Grand Canyon

All I can say is WOW!!!!  The pictures below do not do justice to this amazing spectacle.  It is truly one of the most beautiful, awe inspiring displays of nature that we have ever seen in our lives!  We had a fantastic day in terms of weather.  When we left Flagstaff for the 1.5 hour journey to the canyon it was about 1 degree.  At the canyon it was about 9.  We started with jackets, hats and mitts.  By the time we hiked a couple hours, it was about 15 degrees!  We ended up hiking the south rim trail for about 5 miles, and then taking the shuttle to see a few more sights.  A stop for lunch helped!!!!!  We also decided to stay to see the sunset.  Not the kind of picturesque views as we saw over the ocean in Florida, but the different hues of fading sunlight on the canyon walls made for another spectacular visual experience.  Throughout the day, the views just kept getting better and better!  Even though they will appear to be the same in the pics, they weren't!  The shadows, the sunlight...I just can't explain it.  Honestly, one of the most amazing things ever!  Here are some (a lot) pics of us :

And then some random pics of the canyon :

Deer mules we saw along the hike!

Trail I walked along from one vista to another one!  Crazy!

Hope you enjoyed the pics!
